PERSONAL GEAR

  The following is a list of clothing and equipment which will give you a general idea of what is required for your hunt.     

  You should be prepared for a wide range of weather conditions. During August the temperatures range from 70 F (+20 C) to lows of 20 F to 30 F (-2 C) at night. In late September and October the thermometer may drop to 10 F (-10 C) at night with a chance of some snow.

2 pair light woolen long underwear*
2 pair cotton long underwear
1 heavy wool shirt*
2 light cotton shirts
2 pair blue or other type pants
1 pair woolen pants*
1 lightweight down jacket
1 pair shoe packs (rubber bottoms, leather tops, insulated)*
1 pair leather climbing boots with vibram soles
Several pairs heavy wool socks
4 pairs lighter wool socks
2 pairs gloves (1one with a wool liner)
2 pair inner soles|
1 pair camp shoes
1good quality rain suit with hood
Jacket and pants (natural colors more suitable for hunting)
1 warm down-filled sleeping bag
1 backpack sized Thermarest Mattress
1 day pack
1 spotting scope (if available)
 pair binoculars
camera
rifle and ammunition
1 rifle scabbard preferably hooded
